A Message from Gloria
Welcome to our "Sun, Sand, and Success" themed Get The Bag box, where we bring the essence of the Caribbean right to your doorstep. This summer, we invite you to embark on a journey that combines relaxation, culture, and enlightment. Our carefully curated selection celebrates the vibrant spirit of Caribbean businesses, all owned by inspiring Black-owned businesses. Inside, you'll find a captivating novel to transport you to exotic shores, a stylish beach bag perfect for your sunny adventures, and an array of delectable Caribbean snacks and beverages to tantalize your taste buds. To ensure you indulge in some well-deserved self-care, we've included luxurious items that capture the essence of beachside tranquility. Dive into the summer vibes, feel the ease of vacation, and let the success of these incredible women inspire your own journey.
We also invite you to consider the devastating impact of hurricane Beryl and the perils of climate change on the economy and the impact of gentrification on the Caribbean countries. When you travel to the islands, we've provided some resources for you to continue your support of Black-owned businesses, so while we are enjoying the sun and sand, let's contribute to the success of the local, indigenous residents!

OFFICE
- Experience the perfect blend of style and sustainability with our selection of this crochet tote from Veg Out Organics, a company committed to clean and organic materials. We loved the vibrant shades of green, making it an idea accessory for any outfit. This tote bag, ideal for carrying beach items, farmer's market haul or a quick overnight back to through in the basics - isn't just a fashion statement - it's a testament to affordable, but cute green living.
- As a business owner, sometimes taking 100% off from clients is a challenge, and for those of us in northern climes, we need to take advantage of our short window of sunny and warm weather! Check out the article below for some tips and reasons to work from the beach, poolside or any place with access to water.
SIP
- Frescos Naturales is a beautifully packaged and a slightly carbonated version of traditional aguas frescas. These beverages made with fruit, flowers, grains and/or seeds that are drunk all across Latin America, usually made at home with whatever is in season. We were inspired by their flavors, which include many fruits and plants grown and enjoyed broadly in the Caribbean. Great over ice or mixed in with your favorite mocktail or cocktail.
- For our coffee lovers, we bring to you Haitian-owned brand, Caribbrew's spiced cold coffee. We've included some recipes below for you to get the most out of this beverage.
SELF CARE
- NaturalAnnie Essentials is a Black woman owned and family operated lifestyle soy candle company based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They make Island inspired hand poured soy candles with a feel-good vibe! Their non-toxic natural soy candles fill your home with vibrant scents, lift your mood and make you want to escape to a tropical place. All candles are hand-poured in small batches in our studio. They are scented with oil blends that are 100% vegan, 100% eco-friendly, and 100% recyclable. The oils are never diluted, so each has a strong concentrated aroma that doesn't disappear when burned. Made with all-natural soy wax and ECO wicks which are free from lead and zinc.
- Take this candle on the deck, balcony, or another cozy outdoor space and a few potted plants - including at least one Monstera plant - and visualize yourself on an island beach with friends, alone or your favorite bae.
